Approach to design
Interior design is very personal. It is important to get a comprehensive brief at the initial stage of the design process and building a good working relationship with the client is key to this. I pride myself on building that good working relationship and it has served me well in the past.
I am very visual in my approach. I like to provide my clients with initial drawings, floor plans and renders to provide a working basis for moving forward. I am contemporary in my approach to colour and to style trends and I work with leading manufacturers across the design spectrum.
I gained my qualifications in Interior Design and Project management in Ireland where upon graduation; I worked as the Interiors Manager for an overseas investment company which developed joint land ventures across Europe. I have worked across a varied platform of projects; from residential investment properties, display and marketing suites through to Ski resorts, hotels and student accomodation in locations such as; Portugal, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, UK and Canada. Within these projects, I developed the design particulars for each project and location. When I came to Melbourne, I worked as the General Manager for a leading Interior fit-out company before venturing out after 6 years to form my own practice. In Australia, I have worked with developers and hotel operators in both the residential and commercial sectors delivering apartment/hotel room roll-out through to lobby design and installation. My portfolio viewed stems across my roles over the last number of years.
