Approach to design
I love inserting a palette, lighting, furniture and furnishings into a space. I do not believe pieces need to necessarily match the architectural typology in the sense that a modern house does not always need to have modern pieces but it does need to nod to the era and style it was built in and come with a bit of the unexpected. I love listening to clients and finding out what they want to surround themselves with and then aligning those views with the space itself. I am fascinated by connecting people with pieces and trying to honour their personality but also bringing my curatorial skill from my fine art background to match clients budget and outcome.
I studied Interior Decoration at Enmore Design Centre after a lifelong obsession with rearranging rooms. My love for quality and unique furniture saw me work for a few years in furniture retail then onto the soft furnishing industry before my love for painting led me to Sydney College of the Arts to study painting for 3 years. From there I went travelling and ended up working for a bespoke flooring company in Scotland. After having exhausted working in retail and helping designers find the right material for their rooms I decided to to flip roles and started working as a Property Stylist in Canberra before moving to Sydney and working for an elite styling company focusing on high end properties in Sydneys top postcodes, before moving into a larger company working on all properties from apartments to new builds to retirement villages.
