Well, if your home isn’t decked with boughs of holly by now it’s safe to assume your probably not a cupboard fulla’ decorations kind of person. Not to worry! A merry looking home need not be more than a few bunches of backyard foliage away, with these creative ideas.
Welcoming Wreaths
Nothing says “Christmas” or “welcome” like a wreath on your front door. Make your own one from Eucalyptus leaves collected from your garden or favourite local park. First, create your desired shape with some fine wire or an old coat hanger. Then, using florist wire attach small branches in a clockwise motion making sure the leaves are all going in the same direction. Work your way around until you make your way back to where you started. To finish, secure a stem of each branch with wire and trim as required. Hang on your door and enjoy.
Scented Candles
Pair some moody candles with some spray painted twigs and a pine cone for a perfect shelf vignette or fill a shallow metallic tray with candles of differing heights then fill the gaps in the tray with christmas baubles and greenery for an eye catching table centrepiece.
Evoke a sense of nostalgia with candles that smell like christmas. Think Cinnamon, Cedar leaf and Eucalyptus.
