First-home owner, Yvonne never thought she’d ever hire an interior designer, but with a completely empty new space and with so many options, she decided she needed some help.
I had never thought about hiring an interior designer in the past as I always thought it would be something that would be expensive and only for people looking to buy high end pieces. That was before knowing I could get a room designed for just $299 on Milray Park.
Scrolling through Milray Park designers’ directory, Yvonne fell in love with Louise Ireland‘s portfolio that matched perfectly the design vision she had for her new flat: “Scandi design, clean and minimalist with some hint of grey, blush and copper”. It was also important for her that the furniture and decor items wouldn’t date easily.

Design note: “My vision for Yvonne’s first home was to create a modern, relaxed and welcoming space. The Scandi influenced furniture in the living room was combined with a modern, abstract artwork, and I chose a generously sized sofa to provide ample seating, warming up the timber flooring with a soft, natural a rug.” Milray Park Designer Louise Ireland

#2 | Yvonne’s Master Bedroom
Design note: “Creating a neutral palette for Yvonne to have the ability to add her personal touch, overtime was important. The pastel colours and rose gold accents connects seamlessly to the living room, which features similar finishes and textures. A feminine, restful print and the juju hat make this a pretty, yet sophisticated space for Yvonne.” Milray Park Designer Louise Ireland

#3 | Yvonne’s feedback
We caught up with Yvonne to learn more about her Milray Park experience.
If, like me you thought hiring an interior designer would be expensive and only for those looking to buy super pricey items think again! The service is great value for money and they will work within your budget whatever it might be.
What are the three things you liked the most about you Milray Park experience?
“It was very easy – setting up a project and communicating with my designer was smooth. Viewing my project and commenting on particular pieces was simple too. I expected it to be quite time-consuming, but it was very straightforward.”
“The process was seamless – the first look came through very quickly and my designer really understood my vision (and budget!). When I received the final concept the Concierge™ service was fantastic too – saving me money with exclusive retail discounts, ordering the pieces for me, as well as following up with suppliers for delivery.”
“It was affordable – my designer worked within my budget and gave me a great mix of pieces. Along with more moderately priced items. I also have a few steals from Kmart and Target!”

Any tips for someone who’s never hired an interior designer in the past and wanted to give Milray Park a go?
“Jump on Pinterest and create a few boards of concepts you like. It gives your designer something to work with and they really get a feel that way for the style you’re after.”
“Don’t be afraid to give your designer feedback on the designs they come up with. Louise was amazing and when I asked for a few extra rug and lamp options she put a number of options together for me. The designer is keen to make sure you’re happy so don’t feel like you can’t request tweaks and revisions.”
