With bubba number two on the way, a couch (now) too small to laze comfortably on, and a living room that generally just felt disjointed and sparse at the same time, Susan turned to Milray Park Designer Kate Anderton for help!
“Being pregnant and a busy bee, I was attracted by Milray Park price point as well as the convenience of being all online!”
#1 Susan’s Lounge Room
Budget: $5,000
Brief: To optimise the space while creating a comfy, cosy and overall homely living room. Enough space to lounge around comfortably, and have guests around while the kids play.
Design note: “For this living room we wanted to make it feel like more than just a throughway as it doubles as the entry into the home and houses the staircase.
Choosing furniture and homewares that were minimal but together created a high impact, comfortable and warm feeling.
We didn’t want to overwhelm the space, but it needed to function and feel like a special space to sit down and relax in for the whole family.
Curated pieces to make them feel purposeful and considered paired with pieces that are unique to the client such as family photos is an easy way for a dual purpose room for a cosy place to be with family.”

#2 Susan’s Feedback
What are the three things you liked the most about you Milray Park experience?
- Saving Time – Being online I could have a look at the boards late at night or when it suited me.
- Saving Money – The design fit the brief and budget. I even saved some money on furniture and home decor with the Milray Park Concierge Service that negotiated unique retail discounts on my Shopping List™. Affordable and stylish!
- Super easy – The concepts and storyboards were easy to read and relay feedback on every item. Plus being able to purchase any or all of the items in one transaction saved me a lot of hassle coordinating deliveries and dealing with retailers.
Any tips for someone who’s never hired an interior designer in the past and wanted to give Milray Park a go?
“Leave it to the professionals, you will save yourself so much time! You’re better off spending your weekends relaxing rather than shopping and trying to work out if multiple pieces would work together in the space you have. The process is easy and the results are amazing!”
